THE VOID UNION – SKA AND REGGAE COLLECTIVE
Comprised of musicians hailing from Boston and NYC, the VOID UNION is a musical collective formed with the goal of cherishing the Ska and Reggae styles of Jamaica. Showcasing members of The Toasters and Westbound Train, and featuring several Berklee College of Music graduates, the platform’s mission is simple: Bring Ska/Reggae musicians from around the world together, do no harm to the style of music they love, and keep people on the dance floor all night long!
With this aim in mind, and having just returned from their first European tour - where they featured legendary Studio One artist Vin Gordon (Sound Dimension) - the band is hitting the studio with a selection of new songs performed by guest vocalists. The work-shop has already performed and recorded with many renowned Ska/Reggae greats including, Derrick Morgan, The Skatalites, Angelo Moore (Fishbone), and Lynval Golding (the Specials).
Look out for their second full length album “Higher Guns”, to be released in 2011, which will also boast guest appearances by Dave Hillyard (the Slackers), King Django (Stubborn Allstars), Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Obi Fernandez (Westbound Train), and many more!
