August 2009, The gelatinefactory in Hasselt, Belgium, 4 twentysomething chicks decided it was a good idea to start an all chick hardrock and metal coverband that could do some serious damage. Quite as serious as the all female russian airborn regiment led bij Raskova, that would bomb the germans in triplex plains during WO II. They fought and deserved the onymous name « Nightwitches » by scaring those soldiers in their trenches.
Our objects are very similar, but we intend to do so by inflicting some heavy metal in the form of Black Sabbath for example upon your ears.
The band consists of Ciska Vanhoyland : lead and rythem guitar, Mimi van de Put : bass, Katrien Matthys : Drums and Peggy Winters : vocals.
All of the members are creative gluttons in their own area aside the band. We’re talking singer/dancer, musician/composer and artists in arts, graphics and design.
I guess you can say ‘Nightwitches’ are as good as the real deal, but in fact their better, cuz they’ve got racks.
