Okamy, “wolf” in Japanese, is the new project from Recorders frontman Gordon Delacroix. Fusing hip-hop and electronic productions with sometimes hazy, sometimes rocky indie pop vocals revealing political undertones, his new style isn’t easy to pin down. Just imagine James Blake inviting Post Malone, Alt-J, Bon Iver and Kanye to spend a week together in a remote studio located in a northern Norwegian forest to debate the state of the world while drinking experimental Eastern medicine infusions. Visually the new project isn’t leaving anything to chance either with a thought-provoking and multi-layered universe as is showcased in Okamy’s first music video, Hold Up.
