Va Fan Fahre started playing klezmer and balkan music back in 2004 but has taken things a little further adding elements of different kinds of worldmusic. Va Fan Fahre released their second album Zet je maar in 2007 which featured the gypsy-violin of Tcha Limberger and Maroccan vocals from Aicha Haskal a.o. This last singer will play a central part in the future of the brass band as they set of to excursions in Northern Africa for the next album, which will see the light in 2010. In the meantime you can check them on stage and as a mobile brassband enchanting people everywhere. Check the reviews!
“…Belgian brass band Va Fan Fahre’s second album is not your usual Balkan fare, but takes the genre to many unexpected corners of the musical world…” (Fly Global Music Culture - 2008)
Va Fan Fahre invited following guests for the recording of ‘Zet je
maar’: Mahabub Khan (India), Saf (Ghent),
