A newcomer to the Belgian alternative scene, Buenas Ondas has in store a tasty cocktail of Caribbean-inspired music. Between reggae/ska and hip hop, this group’s original compositions mingle effortlessly with the poetic lyrics in French and Spanish made up of metaphors drawn from everyday experience.
This group is the outcome of an improbable meeting of artists’ minds between Ché’s Latino rap, Houya’s astonishing voice, a bluesy rhythm on the piano, a roots sound from the guitar, and the powerful beat of the percussion.
Onstage, egged on by La Ja’s mind-twisting turntables, the words weave their way between song and rap, in a festive setting enhanced by effective staging.
